Jack Delmore

Jack Delmore, DMA is an Emeriti Professor of Music from Colorado Mesa University.  He taught Voice, Performance, Music History as well as other classes at CMU for 28 years and also directed, coached or conducted many of the operas, operettas and Main Stage Musicals over the years of his tenure.  He received the Distinguished Faculty Award in 2010. He is also very proud of his service as Chair and Co-chair of the Lectures and Forums Committee for over a decade.  Dr. Delmore was also Tenor soloist frequently with the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra and the Western Colorado Chorale. He served as President for the Chorale for five years and is still serving on their Board as an assistant Vice-president.  In 2006, Jack joined the Board of Western Equality, where he had the honor of serving and working briefly with Jeff Basinger, so he is truly honored to have had the opportunity to help lead the founding of this, first of its kind, LGBTQ+ Basinger Leadership Scholarship at CMU.
Michael Mansheim

Michael Mansheim

Michael Mansheim is the Chief Strategy Officer at Colorado Health Network, a statewide non-profit dedicated to meeting the evolving needs of people affected by HIV and other health conditions through care, prevention, and advocacy. Prior to this role, Michael was CHN’s Regional Director in Western Colorado, and spent most of his career in higher education. Prior to joining CHN, Michael was the Executive Director for Marketing at Colorado Mesa University where he lead the planning and implementation of the university’s integrated communications strategy and an advisor to Colorado Mesa University’s Genders and Sexualities Alliance student organization. He previously dedicated time as a board member for the Western Colorado AIDS Project and Western Equality, where he worked closely with and learned from Jeff Basinger. He earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Miami and his master’s degree from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University. He lives with his husband, Billy, in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Shelby Burroughs

Shelby Burroughs

Shelby Burroughs is the Director of TRiO Upward Bound at Colorado Mesa University, a federally funded program committed to helping low-income, first-generation students in Mesa County prepare for and succeed in postsecondary education. Passionate about supporting young people, she is actively involved with campus initiatives devoted to making CMU a space where all people, especially LGBTQ+ youth, feel safe and supported. In 2021 she assisted with the adoption of Safe Zone training for faculty, staff, and student leaders at CMU and serves as a facilitator for Safe Zone workshops. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Wyoming and her master’s degree in Education from Colorado Mesa University.
